One of the best ways you can help the SPFB is to host a fundraiser with your business, church, organization, school group, etc.
You’re looking for a way to rally your business, school, or organization around a worthy cause. You want to support your community and feed families in need — but figuring out how to start a fundraiser feels overwhelming. What kind of fundraiser works best? How do you get people to actually participate? How do you avoid wasting time, money, or energy on something that falls flat?
These are real questions. And you’re not alone in asking them.

Showdown at the Jones puts the FUN in Fundraising! This event, hosted by the Texas Tech Club, brings together local chefs in a “Chopped” Style event. Chefs will craft three dazzling courses for the public from a typical food assistance box to taste while our esteemed panel of judges debates and chooses a winner. Congratulations to our 2024 winner, Pooja and Vijay Hedge from Saffron and Spice!
One great way to support our mission is by hosting a golf tournament. Some of our partners like Robert’s Trucking host golf tournaments to raise money for SPFB’s fight against hunger. In 2024 they raised over $18,000 which provides over 54,000 meals for our neighbors in need on the South Plains!
Looking for plans on Memorial Day Weekend? One long standing tradition is our partners at the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints host a fun run to raise money to fight hunger on the South Plains. This couldn’t come at a better time as many students are out of school for the summer and may be at an increased risk of food insecurity.
