OUR YOUTH

This April, we celebrated our first Leading the Future luncheon! We hosted many groups and individuals at the Lubbock Christian University Baker Conference Center to teach them about our farm, orchard, and youth leadership division. The luncheon focused on the youth leadership program and providing sustainable funding so the program — and its students — can look forward to a future of growth!

All funds raised at the event will provide wages for our youth leadership workers in the summer, go into our scholarship fund, and increase our operating budget so we can continue expanding these enriching programs.

Currently, our youth leaders are working hard on transforming the farm and applying various life and professional skills in their communities. From learning how to change the oil in a car to crafting the perfect resume — we will provide an opportunity to learn outside the standard classroom curriculum.

Students who participate in the summer program are typically gearing up to apply for college, or even join the workforce soon. It’s the perfect time to engage in experiences not typically taught in the traditional school environment. Think of it as a class on the basics of life!
